Orienteering Race & Workshop 2026
The ASML Runners Club sponsors the participation in Orienteering Race & Workshop on June 17, 2026. if you're a member of the ASML Runners Club and paid the subscription fee for 2026. Please make sure you're registered and logged in, then you can sign up on this page.
For the 4th year in a row, the ASML Runners Club facilitates what I consider the most elementary and both fun way or running: let’s go Orienteering.

Orienteering is somewhat like trailrunning without a trail, with the challenge to choose your own route on the go, guided by a map and compass, visiting a number of electronic control posts. It is about speed, it’s a race, but it’s more than just going fast; it’s about being fast. You can take both paved, or non-paved roads, or go straight through the forest or over the fields, while using your ability to find the fastest route, and not to get lost. It’s about using your head while running, which adds a new dimension to it. Typically something for all those smart people here at ASML…
The ASML Runners Club has made an introduction program for you, together with KOVZ Orienteering (O-club Eindhoven area), consisting of an introduction session at ASML, two trainings in the field, and an actual race event nearby.
(just one slide from the presentation)
You are supposed to join the introduction and both trainings (unless you joined before). Please register for all four 'events' separately, so I know how many will be present when. It's not a big problem if you only join one training session, but both are in different types of environments (city and forest), which is nice to experience.
- Thursday May 7, intro (theory) at ASML, 12:00-13:30 [VDH 07.A.01.002] register
- Saturday May 9, training 13:15-15:15 [Meerhoven, Eindhoven] register
- Saturday June 13, training 13:15-15:15 [De Staat, Middelbeers] register
- Wednesday June 17, race (start between 18:30-20:00) [Bergenheide, Bergeijk] register (this page)
There is also an official event website but DON'T register there if you want to join via ASML.

Details on the exact locations will follow when you subscribe. During the theory session, we’ll explain what orienteering is like, what you need to know, and how to prepare. After it, in combination with the training sessions, you’ll be ready to race.
The precise locations of the trainings will be communicated later.
The ASML Runners Club will sponsor the race fee incl. chip rental. (Don’t be scared off by the term ‘race’, it’s no problem if this would be your first acquaintance with orienteering, you’ll learn it on the go. My first experience was during a race too.)
But there are many more events throughout the year, in the Netherlands as well as in Belgium. For example the Dutch Championship Sprint Orienteering in Eindhoven (Tongelre) June 21. Why not join that race as well now you know how it works?
